![]() Do you remember that dog in August that we pulled out from under a trailer in Montezuma Creek after being hit by a car. Both hind legs were paralyzed. It was transported to the vet in Moab, then placed in foster care where it has now made a complete recovery, walking on all four legs. This month, we rescued an adorable red heeler that kept avoiding capture in Bluff for over a week. Melanie Kranz was feeding it daily at Bluff Gardens but couldn’t catch it. We planned to live trap it on Saturday, October 1, but it was hit by a car on Friday, September 30, and found unconscious lying by the side of the road near Cadillac Ranch. Upon arrival at Dusty Paws, she woke up and was further resuscitated by Dr. Burns. Ed Dobson then drove her to Mill Creek Animal Hospital in Moab for further treatment, X-rays and surgery, costing $762.00. She is now walking and eating under foster care at Jackie Warren’s where she often sleeps in Jackie’s lap. Our foster homes this month include Al Gerecke and Kathy Smith, Steve and Jana Simpson, Jackie Warren, Priscilla Sagg, Heather Jemmott, Stan and Elise Dalton, Paula Maryboy , Dudley Beck and Glen Renner, and Henry Nez of Window Rock. We have travelled 620 miles to as far away as Moab, White Rock, and Round Rock, Arizona delivering 488 pounds of dog food donated by Underdog. We have vaccinated 15 dogs, paid for 6 spay/neuters, and adopted out one puppy. BARC loves dogs. BARC loves tax deductible donations.
